About Blues Cleaners

Life transition care refers to the cleaning, organizing, and restoration services families need when a major life change involves a home. This includes the death of a loved one, a senior moving out of a long-term residence, a property going through probate, or a hoarding situation that needs to be addressed. Blues Cleaners specializes in these situations and nothing else.

No. Blues Cleaners and Blues Corporation are separate companies that share the same founder and values. Blues Cleaners handles life transition care. Blues Corporation handles commercial cleaning and routine residential cleaning. You can find Blues Corporation at bluescorporations.com. Blues Cleaners does not offer those services.

Yes. Blues Cleaners was founded by James, a U.S. military veteran. The values that come with that background: accountability, discipline, follow-through, and genuine service, shape how we operate on every job.

Yes. Blues Cleaners carries appropriate insurance for our work. We are happy to provide documentation during your free assessment. We take the responsibility of working inside a family's home very seriously.

Getting Started

The first step is a free assessment. Reach out through our contact page, tell us a little about your situation, and we'll schedule a time to come to the property. There is no cost and no obligation. From there, we build a clear plan together.

We typically conduct a free assessment within 24 to 48 hours of your call and can begin work shortly after. We understand that families are managing multiple responsibilities at once and we work around your timeline, not ours.

We come to the property, walk through it with you, and listen. We want to understand the full situation, what's there, what the family's priorities are, what the timeline looks like, and what outcome you need. From that conversation we build a specific plan and provide a clear quote before anything begins.

It depends on your preference and situation. Some families want to be on-site throughout. Others prefer to hand us the keys and receive updates. Charles, our Care Coordinator, is on-site the entire time and will keep you informed however you prefer. We work with whatever approach gives you the most peace of mind.

Pricing & Process

We provide a clear quote after the free assessment. We do not publish flat rates because every situation is different in scope, condition, timeline, and complexity. What we can promise is that there are no surprises. You'll know the cost before we begin and we'll stick to it.

Yes. We understand estate and probate timelines have legal constraints. We work alongside estate attorneys, administrators, and real estate professionals to make sure the property is handled correctly and on the legal timeline of the estate, not our own scheduling preferences.

We handle it. That is the whole point. We coordinate donation drop-offs, manage disposal of items that cannot be donated, and handle all hauling. Families should not have to manage those logistics on top of everything else. If the family wants to be involved in those decisions, we walk them through the options. Otherwise, we take care of it.

That is completely fine. We can scope our work to a single room, one floor, a garage, or a specific category of belongings. During the assessment we'll understand exactly what you need and build the plan around that scope.

Service Area & Specific Situations

Our primary service area includes Davenport, Bettendorf, LeClaire, Rock Island, Moline, East Moline, Milan, Silvis, Clinton, Muscatine, Iowa City, Coralville, and North Liberty. If you're outside these areas, reach out and we'll let you know if we can accommodate your situation.

Yes, and we welcome those referral relationships. Funeral homes are often the first place a family turns after a loss, and questions about the home come up quickly. We are happy to be the resource that funeral homes direct families toward when the property situation needs attention. Contact us to discuss a referral partnership.

Yes. Our bereavement home cleaning service is designed specifically for situations where someone passed in the home. We provide thorough, discreet cleaning and restoration, treating the space and the situation with the respect it deserves. In cases requiring biohazard remediation beyond standard cleaning, we will coordinate with appropriate specialists and advise you directly.

With patience, structure, and zero judgment. Hoarding is a complex situation and the individuals involved deserve to be treated with dignity throughout the process. We move at a pace the situation allows, salvage what can be saved, coordinate safe disposal of hazardous items, and restore the property to a clean and safe condition. We do not rush and we do not shame.
